Job Title: Accounting Assistant

Job Summary

  • This is an mid-level position which provides accounting support to the Head of Account unit by performing a number of financial tasks


  • Management of a payment voucher system;
  • Carry out proper documentation;
  • Remitting monthly PAYE to FIRS;
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly account;
  • Other related duties.

Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to accurately transfer and interpret data from one source to another;
  • Ability to perform basic accounting functions;
  • Knowledge of GAAP, internal controls and accounting procedures;
  • Ability to use a personal computer and software applications especially Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and effectively prioritize tasks; and
  • Knowledge of the double entry principle of accounting.
  • Education and Experience:
  • B.Sc Degree in Accounting or any related field of study; and
  • Experience with the use of a variety of computer applications including Excel and Word.
