Job Title: Accounting Assistant
- This is an mid-level position which provides accounting support to the Head of Account unit by performing a number of financial tasks
- Management of a payment voucher system;
- Carry out proper documentation;
- Remitting monthly PAYE to FIRS;
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly account;
- Other related duties.
Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to accurately transfer and interpret data from one source to another;
- Ability to perform basic accounting functions;
- Knowledge of GAAP, internal controls and accounting procedures;
- Ability to use a personal computer and software applications especially Microsoft Word and Excel;
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and effectively prioritize tasks; and
- Knowledge of the double entry principle of accounting.
- Education and Experience:
- B.Sc Degree in Accounting or any related field of study; and
- Experience with the use of a variety of computer applications including Excel and Word.
